Covid and us
An update on the presales and the new covid lockdown that we find ourselves in. I have spoken to the freight company and they are sure they are allowed into Auckland to pick up the epsom salts and bring them back to Hamilton. This might be tomorrow. We are waiting on confirmation. Those of you who have paid for courier will have them sent out as soon as the logistics company get them. They have all of our sales on the board at the depot and are prepared. If you arrang...

August 10, 2020My mother, Granny Soup.
I've been thinking a lot about my mother recently. She passed over nearly 4 years ago and strangely I feel her presence more strongly in my life now than I did when she was here. My mother was an interesting lady, not everybody's cup of tea, a little unusual, a lover of wine and fine things but also a down to earth, potter at home with her numerous animals, sort of person. My mother's mother was a nurse. Sadly, I never got to meet her. However I think her healing nature h...
August 9, 2020Cats
Who loves cats? Me, for 1. My kids too. My parents did as well. I got turned into a crazy cat lady. We used to foster... (notice the word foster please!) pregnant cats from the local cat rescue. Once the kittens were born (and in the process destroyed my carpets!) we let them self wean. Pretty special to watch them being born and grow up. We had 1 cat that was a tad violent and used to attack the dogs and my kids, so she needed rehoming. Her kitten...
August 2, 2020Shattered
Ever had one of those weeks? One where you worked 7 days solid and need to do another 5 before you can rest again? Not the best, is it? It happened to me this week. I am shattered. Happily shattered. I spent the weekend with some awesome people that I work with in my "proper job" as someone recently called it :-) I was with some fantastic colleagues who pull together as a team. And best of all some fabulous teenagers who showed such respect and care for e...
July 26, 2020Rest
How do you rest? Do you rest? I had a really busy day yesterday, dropping off natural epsom salts to some of my stockists and then the dreaded trip to the gynae đ¤Śââď¸đ¸ Today, I need rest. But, today I also need to attend to my other work. 1 answer was to have some extra sleep as I didn't need to set the alarm. The cats and dogs wanting breakfast AGAIN put paid to that. The second option was to raise darling daughter to deal with the pets whilst I snuck back to bed! It work...
July 17, 2020Some days just need gin!
A friend came over to help me clear out my barn ready for the new shipment of natural Epsom salt. We need space for 20 tonne! Whilst he had a coffee to ready himself for the job ahead, I carried on pounding my herbs. Now my love of a wee GnT occasionally might be known in some circles! He asked me why he could smell gin and tonic at 1030am! Haha! No, I havenât started drinking before 5pm. The GnT blend REALLY does smell of gin and tonic…. With the ad...
July 16, 2020GF Doughnuts in Putaruru
Many years ago I was lucky enough to live near my dear old Dad. When I was pregnant he and I decided to stay fit! So, we'd toddle off in my little Micra to the local swimming pool and do a whole 10 lengths of their not so large pool. The best bit was afterwards when we'd go to Tesco and buy jam doughnuts! I don't think the evidence ever made it home, other than gaining more weight than I should have done and not staying quite as fit as was expected. It would appear that t...
July 15, 2020Maungakawa Reserve
My darling daughter thought it would be a good idea to take her mother for a walk today! Maungakawa Reserve got to experience this old body taking the steps very slowly and apparently looking like a crab. I gather there is video evidence as a fit 17 year old thought it quite funny to watch her old and unfit mum hobbling around, huffing and puffing! Finally home and still out of breathe I think I need to soak in the spa with 25kg of epsom salt. I might even need another 25kg poppe...
July 14, 2020Dr Steve Joe, Hamilton
My family and I have been lucky enough to have experienced the Dr Joe magic for the past 14 years. Dr Joe helped to recover my 2 children who were struggling with numerous allergies and reactions to the environment and food when we first arrived in New Zealand. We were originally directed towards Dr Joe when he was a GP near to where we lived and we were looking for a doctor with a biomedical approach. Once he opened his own clinic, we followed him. Steve listen...
July 13, 2020Purity of Epsom Salts
Chances are you already know about the benefits of Epsom Salts. From soothing tension, muscles and sleep, all the way to supporting ASD, Fibromyalgia or CFS - Magnesium, (as Epsom Salts) are naturally the next best thing to a relaxing holiday! But with so many to choose from, which one is right for you, and is there even a ârightâ one? If youâre using Epsom Salts to support detoxification, these questions make perfect sense. After all â we want to remove impurities, not add more in! And ...

July 10, 2020Organic Camomile
Camomile tea was introduced to me when I was 13 years old. Yes, that was a long time ago! My oldest and dear friend Dr Nick advised me to drink Camomile tea and it soon became a staple in my life. It is a very soothing drink, settling the tummy and inducing relaxation. Not so long ago an organic gardener stayed in my home for a few months and grew organic camomile flowers which we used for tea. It was delicious. The joy of walking outside to pick your own camom...
July 8, 2020My love of lavender
My memories of lavender go back to university days when I began to have an interest in essential oils. It is my go-to essential oil and led me to become an aromatherapist 25 years ago. I rarely go anywhere without a bottle of lavender oil. I clean my desk at school with it, I put it on my arms when I accidentally burn myself with the iron or when cooking and I offer it to friends and family when they have a headache, pain, anxiety, upset et al. My children know the answer...
July 7, 2020Do you put Epsom Salts in your spa?
I sometimes have damaged sacks that I cannot and will not sell, especially if there are holes and the lovely natural epsom salt are leaking out. But, I also cannot waste 25kg. So, what do I do with it? Well, one of the things I do is get my kids to dump all 25kg into my spa. I've had my spa for 3.5 years and have never had a problem running it with a sack of epsom salts. However, disclaimer here we come.... I am not recommending you necessarily follow my lead.&...

June 30, 2020The Herbal Collection
The Herbal Collection started a couple of years ago when my great friend, Ang, suggested making up Christmas jars. They were so successful that we decided to branch out and produce our Herbal Collection. I have created 7 organic herbals so far, with more to come. As we only offer Natural, Chemically Pure and Food Grade Epsom Salts I made the decision to only use organic herbs and flowers. The combinations have been thought through using my aromatherapy hat to produce...
June 30, 2020Thank you Mom and Dad
How did we arrive at our new logo? With love and guidance from above. My parents passed away a few years ago. They both still have a very strong presence in my life. We kept our quirky dragonfly and gave it a nudge and a wiggle. The dragonfly came about from a trip to England to see my best friends and just seemed to land in my lap. I loved my last logo. It was a bit hard to give it up. But thanks to the patience and talent of a family friend, we c...
