One of the most common questions I am asked is "how much epsom salt should I use?'"
It is the "how long is a piece of string question?" Some wee kiddies using a small handful in the bath might have a detox situation, also known as a healing crisis. Adults can head off to a flotation tank and bathe in 500kg of epsom salt!
So... how do I use epsom salts?
Because Natural Epsom Salts are a natural detoxifier, you’ll need to start gently. Start with half a cup or less of salt in a bath (or foot bath) of water and soak for 20 minutes. Once you’re used to it, soak for as long as you like! Over a period of a few weeks increase the amount of salt until you find what is best for you. For babies, young children, and those with eczema, start with just a teaspoon at a time, and gradually increase.
Personally, I can now sit in my spa with 50kg of Natural Epsom Salt and feel fantastic. I am not advocating using epsom salts in your spa. You'll need to check that with the manufacturer. I have had my spa for 5 years and I only use water and epsom salt. So far, so good!
If you have kidney disease or other medical concerns, please consult your doctor before using any epsom salt.
